.worship.and.reality.

*there are many ideas within Christian spirituality that contradict the facts of reality. i think there are all sorts of things that our hearts believe that don't make any sense to our heads. LOVE, for instance; we believe in love. Beauty. Jesus as God.

i came across this the other day and it really struck my mind.
it confused me and at the same time made perfect sense.
it made me think SO much so, that i am still thinking about it 3 days later.

so...as it continued....
*it is comforting to think that if we are created beings, then the thing that created us would have to be greater than us--SO much greater that we would not be able to understand it.

that would in fact, have to be greater than the facts of our reality. looking at that, some would say that it might even contradict reason. but reason itself would suggest it would have to be greater than reality....or it would not be reasonable.

take a minute to think about that...or even 3 days, because i still am.

eternity is NOT something that the human mind is capable of understanding. we might think about it, and even stretch our minds enough to think we know what "living forever" could be like...but since none of us have experienced death...we cannot understand it.

*so, can we understand what it means to have never been born?

we, as Christains, must strech our minds to understand that we cannot explain everything that happens. there is more to Christianity than just the facts. Even we, as Christians, are going to come across things that might not match up with the facts of reality...

when we WORSHIP, we worship a Being that our minds do not even give us the tools in which to understand. which is exaclty why God inspires awe. i like that feeling...the feeling of awe.

i like that the Bible doesn't give us every single answer to life. I like that there is this sense of unknowing wonder, such awe in worship. i like that feeling of being complete when i am in awe of God. i like topics that are confusing, and i like feelings that are confusing. LOVE, for instance; we believe in love. Beauty. Jesus as God. I like that we believe in things that our minds were not made to understand. i like the feeling of being complete, and never alone.
